Gardening starts from fresh ground with nothing at all.?

Dear all, i'll be moving to a new place with a garden soon, i've asked the previous owner to remove all the ugly plants and trees for me before they move out. i was thinking to use hot boiling water to kill all remaining grass & bugs(ants and centipides). then only i start transplant my plants.
or any other suggestion instead of boiling water? prefer non-chemical way. thanks

Answers:

1haha, this one is tough. What I will recommend, for the bugs at least, is a solution of neem oil. Neem oil never hurts plants, is completely organic, and will definitely kill the bugs. Pull up the roots or all the plants is the only advice I can give you. Boiling water wont do it man.
